§1 The publisher
instantnewsfee is put out by MGM Yonkers, Inc., 810 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. Letters for the editors go to contact@instantnewsfee.com.
That company runs a casino venue in Yonkers, New York. With no guest rooms there, the venue simply does not qualify for a hotel list. Several hotels in our edition compete for the same regional visitors as the publisher, and the masthead is where we choose to admit it.
§2 Who owns the ten
Our publisher owns none of the ten hotels, and neither does its parent group, which is why no entry carries a sister-property label. Should that ever change, the affected dispatch will be marked and this paragraph rewritten.
§3 Where the money comes from
Some outbound links to hotels are tagged for referral tracking. If a reader follows one and then books, a hotel or partner network may pay the publisher a commission, and the reader's price stays the same. That commission is the paper's income. The mechanics are explained in our affiliate disclosure.
§4 How a hotel earns a dispatch
Every candidate faces four tests. Rooms: are the types explained, and what lies beyond the window? Leisure: what is there besides gaming, such as a spa, pool, restaurants or a showroom? Setting: what surrounds the property, and how do you get there? Candour: are fees, ages and house rules visible before checkout?
The desk then sets the order by judgement. We refuse to guess at numbers. Room totals, prices and opening years are printed only when we are sure, and otherwise the dispatch sends you to the hotel.
§5 Reporting standards
Our writers cover places to stay in New York State and New England. For each dispatch we read the hotel's official pages, cross-check them with state tourism listings and regional press, and log every point we failed to verify. We carry no guest testimonials and award no grades of any kind.
§6 Corrections
Found a stale detail? Send the page link and the fact in question to contact@instantnewsfee.com. A second editor compares the claim with what the property publishes, amends the dispatch where needed and resets its "last set" line. Hotel staff may report errors of fact as well, yet no position can be purchased or haggled over.
